Notes on Zao: Zao will try to follow a set move set, one seen on the wowhead comments is:
"Turn 1: Charges up
Turn 2: Niuzao's Charge
Turn 3: Trample
Turn 4: Trample
Turn 5: Wish
Turn 6: Trample, Wish heals
Turn 7: Charges up
Turn 8: Niuzao's Charge
Turn 9-10: Trample
Turn 11: Wish
Turn 12: Trample, Wish Heals
Turn 13: Charges up
Turn 14: Niuzao's Charge"
and so on.
Beware of RNG crits and misses.
My team:
Wildhammer Gryphon hatchling (or a flyer with flock)
Wild Jade Hatching (Tail sweep - Call lightning - Lift off) (Baby jade serpent from the Order)
Mechanical Pet
Tactic:
Open with the gryphon do nothing but flock, Your gryphon will die but theres a reason to do nothing but flock despite how little damage it does. Flock Applys a 100% damage debuff.
When gryphon dies, Jade hatchling, Call Lightning, Tail sweep. Your jade will be slow, tail sweep does extra damage by slow pets plus the extra damage from Lightning to beast types.
I was lucky and got him down with just this, However your mechanical pet is there for backup should a RNG crit or miss happen.
